Here is how to understand what those estimates can and cannot tell you.ProMom TeamSeptember 11, 20252 min readShareTrying to conceive can turn an ordinary week into a list of dates, symptoms and questions. A cycle tracker can help you keep those details together. Understanding what its estimates mean matters just as much as recording them. What a calendar estimate can tell you Cycle calendars use menstrual history to estimate when ovulation may happen. Those estimates can help you see a possible fertile window, but they do not confirm that ovulation has occurred. Timing can change. Mayo Clinic notes that medications, stress and illness can affect ovulation, and that calendar predictions can be inaccurate, especially with irregular cycles. A date on a screen should be treated as an estimate, not a promise. Separate what you logged from what is predicted Your period dates and other entries are records of what you observed. A predicted date is an estimate about what may happen next. Keeping that distinction clear helps you make sense of your calendar without asking it to provide certainty it cannot offer. In ProMom, Smart Calendar brings cycle logs, fertile-window estimates and upcoming appointments into one place. You can return to your history instead of piecing it together from several apps or trying to remember every date. Keep your questions with your context A new entry can bring up a new question. You can ask Maia in your own words, with guidance informed by your stage and what you have shared. That gives you somewhere to start when you want to understand information or organize what to ask next. Maia and calendar estimates do not diagnose fertility conditions, guarantee conception or replace advice from your clinician. ProMom's fertility estimates should not be used as a method of contraception. Make tracking useful to you Keep the records you want to be able to return to.Notice whether a date is logged or predicted before relying on it.Bring your cycle history and questions to your clinician when you need individual guidance. You do not need to turn every day into a project. The purpose of tracking is to make your information easier to find and your questions easier to discuss. It's about managing the mental load. How smart tracking tools like ProMom reduce decision fatigue and bring some calm back to the journey.ProMom TeamNovember 14, 20253 min readShareTrying to conceive isn't just about timing and biology. It's about managing mental load.Between tracking cycles, Googling symptoms, scheduling appointments, and trying to stay emotionally grounded, fertility can start to feel like a full-time job. For many professional women, the pressure to "get it right" collides with demanding careers, information overload, and the quiet stress of uncertainty. That's where smart technology is quietly reshaping the conversation.Instead of adding another app to the noise, a new generation of smart fertility tools is learning to lighten the mental burden, helping women plan, process, and pause with more peace of mind.1. The Invisible Weight of "Trying"Fertility has long been framed in biological terms: hormones, ovulation, cycles. But what's often missing is how mentally taxing the process can be.Psychologists call it "the invisible load": the constant mental background noise of to-do lists, tracking charts, reminders, and worries.A 2024 study in the Journal of Reproductive Health found that women undergoing fertility planning experience up to 40% higher cognitive stress than those not trying to conceive. The result? Decision fatigue. When every choice (what to eat, when to test, when to rest) feels like it could impact your future, it's easy to feel stuck between anxiety and exhaustion.2. From Tracking to UnderstandingTraditional fertility apps have focused on data collection: logging cycles, symptoms, and predictions. But information alone isn't relief.Today's smart tools are moving beyond charts into context. Instead of just telling you when you're ovulating, they're learning how you live, how you feel, and what you need next. For example, modern fertility tech can now analyze subtle body pattern trends, like sleep, stress levels, and lifestyle rhythms, to recommend not only timing, but self-care adjustments. The goal isn't just conception. It's clarity.ProMom is part of this new movement: a smart, empathetic platform that adapts to each stage of motherhood, starting with fertility. Its AI assistant helps reduce noise by combining verified insights with emotional awareness, so women can make decisions from confidence, not confusion.3. Why Decision Fatigue MattersWhen you're making dozens of small choices every day."Should I track again?", "Is this symptom normal?", "What should I avoid eating?", your brain starts to burn out. This fatigue has real consequences. Studies show that chronic decision fatigue can lower adherence to healthy habits and increase anxiety, especially in women managing both fertility and work.Smart support systems help by taking micro-decisions off your plate. They filter noise, prioritize what matters, and simplify the path forward. It's not about outsourcing intuition. It's about amplifying calm.4. Tech That Supports, Not ReplacesAI in fertility isn't about replacing human empathy. It's about reinforcing it.When thoughtfully designed, technology can create more space for connection between women and their partners, doctors, or themselves.Imagine asking, "What's normal for me?" and receiving a data-backed, personalized answer, not a panic-inducing search result.Imagine an app that learns your stress triggers and gently reminds you when it's time to rest, not just test. That's the evolution of fertility support: tools that work with women, not on them.5. The Future of Fertility WellnessThe next wave of women's health tech is shifting from tracking to wellbeing.Smart fertility tools are beginning to integrate mindfulness, nutrition, and mental health, all essential to a balanced conception journey. The focus can shift from trying to control every detail toward feeling supported and cared for.Instead of striving for perfection, the focus is on building peaceful predictability: reducing cognitive clutter so women can focus on what truly matters: their health, relationships, and emotional resilience.6. How ProMom Fits InProMom was built for the modern motherhood journey, starting well before pregnancy. Its intelligent systems simplify fertility tracking, but also help women make sense of the "why" behind their data.Whether it's understanding how stress impacts ovulation, finding credible nutrition guidance, or setting gentle reminders, ProMom transforms overwhelm into insight. It's the kind of AI that feels more like a companion than a calculator.7. A Healthier Way ForwardThe mental load of fertility doesn't have to be invisible, or inevitable. With smarter technology and empathetic design, women can reclaim space for rest, joy, and connection.Fertility should be a chapter of hope, not exhaustion.Thoughtful tools can help make the everyday details easier to manage.Found this helpful? This Mother's Day, a look at what carrying all of it actually costs.ProMom TeamMay 10, 20268 min readShareMother’s Day is usually filled with flowers, cards, brunch reservations, family photos, and sweet messages of appreciation. All of that matters. But there is another part of motherhood that deserves to be seen too: the invisible load moms carry every day.It is the remembering. The researching. The planning. The tracking. The comparing. The quiet worrying. The tabs open in her browser and in her mind.It starts before pregnancy for many women, with cycle tracking, ovulation timing, fertility questions, supplement research, appointment scheduling, and the emotional weight of trying to conceive. It continues during pregnancy, with food safety questions, symptom checks, prenatal visits, registry decisions, birth planning, work planning, and the constant pressure to make the right choice. And it carries into postpartum and early parenthood, where sleep, feeding, recovery, diapers, pumping, baby development, appointments, and work re-entry all compete for mental space.Motherhood is full of love. It is also full of logistics. And too often, moms are expected to manage both without dropping anything. What We Mean by the Invisible LoadThe invisible load of motherhood is not one task. It is the mental work behind all the tasks. It is not just buying diapers. It is knowing when they are running low.It is not just scheduling a pediatrician visit. It is remembering the question you wanted to ask, tracking the symptom, finding the insurance card, adding the appointment to the calendar, and adjusting work around it.It is not just packing a bag. It is knowing what the baby might need, what you might need, what could go wrong, and what has to be ready just in case. This mental load is easy to miss because so much of it happens quietly. There is no obvious receipt for it. No calendar invite that says “spent 45 minutes comparing bottle warmers.” No badge for researching whether a pregnancy symptom is normal at 11:30 pm. No thank-you note for remembering everyone’s needs before they are spoken out loud. But the load is real. And for modern moms, it often starts earlier and lasts longer than people realize. The Load Starts Before the Baby ArrivesMany people think motherhood begins at birth. For many women, it begins much earlier. It begins with trying to understand your body. Tracking cycles. Reading about fertility. Wondering if a symptom means something. Trying not to overthink. Trying not to miss the fertile window. Trying to balance hope with self-protection.For women trying to conceive, the mental load can be especially isolating because so much of it happens privately. She may be taking meetings, answering emails, leading teams, and managing deadlines while also quietly tracking ovulation, calculating dates, and wondering if this month will be different. Then pregnancy adds a new layer. There are appointments to attend, questions to remember, tests to understand, foods to check, products to compare, symptoms to monitor, and decisions to make. Some are small. Some feel enormous. Most happen while life and work keep moving.By the time a baby arrives, many moms have already been carrying the invisible load for months or years.Mother’s Day should make room for that truth too.Modern Motherhood Has Too Many Tabs OpenToday’s moms have more access to information than ever. That can be helpful. It can also be overwhelming. One question can turn into ten browser tabs. One symptom can lead to a search spiral. One product decision can turn into hours of reviews, conflicting advice, and second-guessing.Should I call the doctor? Is this safe during pregnancy? What should I pack for the hospital? How often should my baby feed?Is this postpartum symptom normal?Which tracker should I use?Which app has the right answer?Which source do I trust? The problem is not that moms lack information. The problem is that information is scattered, inconsistent, and often hard to trust. When every answer lives in a different app, article, note, forum, text thread, or appointment summary, moms end up becoming the system that holds everything together. That is a lot to ask of someone who is already carrying so much. Why This Feels Different for Today’s MomsMotherhood has always involved care, sacrifice, and responsibility. But modern motherhood has its own pressure. Many women are becoming moms while already carrying demanding careers, financial responsibilities, caregiving duties, fertility decisions, health research, and the expectation to stay informed about everything. There is also a new kind of pressure that comes from having unlimited information available at all times.Every question feels searchable. Every decision feels researchable. Every choice has a review, a warning, a thread, a comparison chart, or a recommendation from someone who sounds certain. That can make moms feel like they should know more, do more, and prepare better. But more information does not always create more confidence.Sometimes it creates more tabs, more second-guessing, and more pressure to make the perfect decision. For today’s moms, support needs to be more than encouragement. It needs to help simplify the noise. The Emotional Cost of Constant Decision-MakingThe invisible load is not only logistical. It is emotional.Moms are often expected to make decisions quickly, confidently, and correctly, even when the information is incomplete or contradictory. That creates a quiet cycle of second-guessing.Did I ask the right question?Did I miss something? Was that advice reliable?Should I be doing more?Am I overreacting?Am I not reacting enough? This is where the mental load becomes more than a to-do list. It becomes a constant background hum.And that hum can make even ordinary decisions feel heavier. For working moms and career-driven women, the pressure can feel especially intense. Many are managing high expectations at work while also managing the details of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or early parenting at home. They are not just switching between roles. They are carrying both at the same time. What Moms Really NeedMoms deserve appreciation. They also deserve support that is practical, consistent, and built for real life. They need fewer places to look. They need answers they can trust. They need tools that reduce the mental load instead of adding to it.They need support between appointments, not just during them. They need help organizing the details that are easy to forget but hard to ignore. They need care that recognizes the whole journey: preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Most of all, they need to feel like they are not holding everything alone. The best support for moms is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is simple:One place to track what matters. One place to ask the question. One place to remember the next step. One place that helps her feel more clear, more organized, and more confident. Why “Just Ask for Help” Is Not EnoughPeople often tell moms to ask for help. That advice is well intentioned. But it misses something important.Asking for help is also work.A mom still has to know what needs to be done, explain it, delegate it, follow up, and often correct it later. That means she is still managing the system.Real support does not only ask, “What can I do?”Real support notices. Anticipates. Shares responsibility. Reduces the number of decisions she has to make. That might look like a partner taking over appointment scheduling without being asked. A workplace making return-to-work planning more realistic. A family member bringing food without needing instructions. A tool that keeps track of feeds, symptoms, milestones, and questions so she does not have to hold it all in her head.Support is not just doing tasks.Support is helping carry the thinking behind the tasks. How Families Can Actually Lighten the LoadMother’s Day is a good moment to move from appreciation to action. For partners, family members, friends, and workplaces, the best support often starts with taking full ownership of something specific. Not “Tell me what you need.”Try: “I’ll handle dinner every Tuesday and Thursday.”Not “Let me know how I can help.”Try: “I booked the pediatrician appointment and added it to the calendar.”Not “You should rest.”Try: “I’ll take the baby from 7 to 9 so you can sleep without listening for every sound.”The difference is ownership. When someone takes ownership, the mom does not have to manage the task, remind someone, explain the details, or carry the follow-up.That is what makes support feel like relief. And for a mom who has been holding a thousand details in her head, relief can be one of the most meaningful gifts. The Role of Technology, When It Is Done RightTechnology is not the whole answer. It should never replace doctors, partners, families, or real human care. But thoughtful technology can help. The right tools can reduce the noise. They can organize scattered information. They can help moms track patterns, prepare for appointments, remember next steps, and find answers without falling into a search spiral. The key is that technology should feel calming, not chaotic. It should not overwhelm moms with more notifications, more dashboards, or more decisions. It should help them understand what matters now and what can wait. That is the difference between another app and a true support system. The future of motherhood technology should not be about giving moms more to manage. It should be about helping moms carry less.A Better Mother’s Day ConversationMother’s Day is a beautiful moment to celebrate moms. But it can also be a moment to listen more closely. Not just to say “thank you,” but to ask:What are you carrying that no one sees? What decisions are living in your head right now? What would make this week feel lighter? What can I take over completely, not just help with once?Where do you need clarity, not more advice? These questions matter because appreciation without support can feel incomplete.A card is lovely. Flowers are lovely. Brunch is lovely. But the deeper gift is making a mom feel less alone in the daily work of holding everything together. What This Means at ProMomProMom was built around a simple belief: motherhood should not require moms to piece everything together alone. From preconception through early parenthood, moms are navigating questions, decisions, appointments, routines, and trackers across too many places. ProMom brings guidance, tools, and support into one trusted home base so moms can feel more organized, more confident, and less overwhelmed. Not because moms need more information.Because they need more clarity. Not because technology should replace care.Because the right support can make the space between appointments feel less uncertain. Not because motherhood should be optimized into another productivity project.Because moms deserve tools that lighten the load they already carry. This Mother’s Day, Let’s See the Whole PictureMotherhood is love.It is also planning. Researching. Tracking. Remembering. Worrying. Deciding. Adjusting. Starting again. This Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate moms for all of it.The visible work. The invisible work. The emotional work. The work that happens before the baby arrives. The work that continues long after everyone else assumes she has figured it out.And maybe the best way to honor moms is not only to thank them for carrying so much.It is to help make the load lighter.Found this helpful? You can only conceive during your fertile window, which is typically five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself.✅ Fact: The best way to track your fertile window is by using an ovulation tracker, like ProMom's Smart Calendar, which predicts ovulation based on cycle data.Myth #2: More Intercourse = Higher Chances🚫 False! Daily intercourse may reduce sperm quality over time.✅ Fact: Studies suggest that having sex every other day during your fertile window is the best approach for conception.Myth #3: Certain Foods or Drinks Instantly Boost Fertility🚫 False! No single food will magically make you pregnant overnight.✅ Fact: A fertility-friendly diet with lean proteins, leafy greens, and healthy fats can improve reproductive health over time.Final Thoughts: The Best Thing You Can DoTrying to conceive is a journey, and knowledge is power. Forget the myths. Use science-backed methods like tracking ovulation, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and reducing stress.💡 Want a smarter way to track ovulation and fertility insights? How smart tracking keeps healing, sleep, mood, and feeding in one place, so you are not holding it all in your head.ProMom TeamNovember 14, 20255 min readSharePostpartum Care Is Changing. And It's Smarter Than EverThe postpartum stage (the "fourth trimester") is a complex blend of physical healing, emotional adjustment, and newborn care. For professional women, it's also a logistics puzzle, balancing recovery, bonding, sleep, and the return to work. smart tools and modern health apps can help with these everyday details by turning scattered advice into personalized, daily support. This guide explains what postpartum recovery actually involves, how smart tools can help, and practical strategies to feel calmer, safer, and more confident day by day. What Postpartum Recovery Really MeansPostpartum recovery isn't just "back to normal." It's a phased recalibration:• Physical healing: uterine involution, perineal or C-section healing, bleeding patterns, pelvic floor recovery, lactation changes.• Emotional health: mood shifts, anxiety, baby blues, and screening for postpartum depression/anxiety.• Daily function: sleep debt, hydration and nutrition needs, gentle movement, pain management.• Newborn care: feeding, diapering, sleep regulation, soothing, growth tracking.• Life logistics: pumping plans, partner support, caregiver coordination, and return-to-work timelines.Historically, moms managed these needs across paper notebooks, multiple apps, and late-night searches. Newer AI tools consolidate that chaos, helping you log, learn, and act with less mental load. How Smart Tools Support Postpartum Recovery1) Postpartum recovery tracking (you + baby, in one view)Modern apps let you log bleeding, pain, bowel movements, temperature, wound care, and pelvic floor exercises, right alongside baby feeds, diapers, and sleep. Putting mom + baby in one dashboard reveals helpful patterns (e.g., "on days baby naps longer mid-day, your mood and hydration improve").2) AI assistants for quick, reliable answersInstead of doom-scrolling, ask targeted questions: "What's normal bleeding three weeks postpartum?", "How do I pace a C-section walk on day 10?", "How often should my newborn feed at night?" Quality assistants surface evidence-based guidance and safety language (and know when to encourage you to call your provider).3) Confidence tools (nudges, reminders, and plans)Gentle, contextual prompts help you remember high-impact habits: sip water during feeds, take prescribed meds, schedule a 2-week check-in, try a 10-minute walk, do 3 sets of diaphragmatic breaths, log mood at 7pm. The goal isn't perfection. It's steady, compassionate consistency.4) Newborn care resources without the rabbit holesIntegrated baby logs (feeds, diapers, sleep) plus brief, stage-specific tips keep you informed without information overload. You learn just-in-time, not all-at-once.5) Shared support modesSome tools let partners/caregivers see a limited view (e.g., pumping schedule, bottle prep, tummy-time timer), which spreads the load and reduces the number of "Did you…?" texts. Why This Matters for Career-Driven Moms• Lower mental load: one hub replaces scattered trackers and tabs.• Better planning: forecasts for baby sleep windows, pumping blocks, or wound-care timing make calendars realistic.• Faster triage: you'll know when something is routine vs. When to call your OB/Ped.• Confidence through clarity: small wins compound: hydration, short walks, consistent meds, realistic rest.Safety, Privacy, and Boundaries (Read This First)AI is a supplement, not a substitute, for medical care. Use it to understand, organize, and prepare questions, but rely on your clinicians for diagnosis and treatment. Choose tools that are transparent about data use (no selling data), use encryption, and follow applicable privacy standards. When in doubt, call your provider or local emergency line.Immediate medical attention is warranted for red-flag symptoms such as severe headache, chest pain, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding (soaking a pad in an hour), fever, severe abdominal pain, or thoughts of harming yourself or your baby. The Core of Postpartum Recovery: What to Track (and Why)Sleep & fatigue• Log total sleep (for you) and longest stretch (for baby).• Simple rule: protect one 90-minute "core rest" per 24 hours for mom. Schedule help to make it happen.• In the app: get a "wind-down" nudge 30 minutes before your target bedtime.Bleeding & pain• Note color/quantity trends. Track pain locations and scores.• In the app: set reminders to pace pain meds and gentle movement. If bleeding increases after activity, the app can prompt you to scale back and call if thresholds are crossed.Hydration & nutrition• Use "feed habit stacking": hydrate while feeding. Snack while logging diapers.• In the app: personalized snack prompts (protein + fiber + fat) tied to feed times.Mood & mental health• Brief daily check-ins beat sporadic long reflections.• In the app: mood patterning can surface "micro-windows" when you typically feel most anxious or most calm, then suggest a 5-minute grounding practice right there.Pelvic floor & core• Start with breath, posture, and gentle pelvic floor engagement when cleared.• In the app: 2-minute micro-routines timed after diaper changes maintain consistency.Wound care & mobility• For C-section or perineal repair: reminders for checks, hygiene, and movement.• In the app: timeline cards (day 3, day 7, week 2…) set realistic expectations and reduce fear.Feeding (breast/chest, pumping, or formula)• Track both sides/time or ounces. Note latch comfort and nipple/skin status.• In the app: quick "what's normal vs. Call now" guardrails lower anxiety.7 Evidence-Informed Habits (With Smart Prompts)Hydrate on every feed – keep a marked bottle at feeding spots. Set an auto-prompt when a feed starts.Plan one intentional rest – 20–30 minutes of horizontal rest daily. Block it on your calendar.Micro-movement – 5–10 minute walks, gentle stretches. App nudges 2–3x/day.Power snack pattern – pair carbs + protein (e.g., apple + nut butter).Pelvic floor basics – breath + gentle engagement, timed reminders, 2 minutes each.Mood moments – quick check-ins. If two or more "red" flags in a week, prompt to contact care.Partner sync – weekly 10-minute review of shared tasks inside the app.Small, repeatable steps > heroic, unsustainable plans.Return-to-Work: Smarter (and Kinder) Planning• Timeline reality check: map doctor clearances, childcare start, commute, and flexible work options.• Pumping plan: schedule blocks + backups. Auto-remind to label/store. Share calendar with partner/caregiver.• Energy budgeting: protect one "non-negotiable" daily recovery habit (walk, nap, stretch).• Boundaries script bank: pre-write 2–3 messages you can reuse (e.g., "In a pump block until 2:15, will respond after.").• Debrief loop: weekly 10-minute review: keep what worked, drop what didn't.What AI Can't Do (and What It Can)AI can't: diagnose, replace professional care, or guarantee outcomes.AI can: organize, personalize, and gently coach, reducing decision fatigue and helping you act sooner on what matters. The Future: From Reactive to Proactive PostpartumExpect tighter wearable integrations (sleep/HRV/stress), predictive flags ("your bleeding trend is higher than expected, call your provider"), smarter partner modes, and community matching that pairs you with moms at a similar stage and schedule. The north star: care that is proactive, compassionate, and tailored to your real life.Key Takeaways• Consolidate logs (you + baby) in one place to see patterns.• Use AI as a calm, evidence-informed assistant, especially for reminders and triage.• Protect hydration, rest, movement, mood check-ins, and pelvic floor basics.• Plan return-to-work with realistic blocks, boundaries, and shared support.• When in doubt, call your provider. Tech is here to help you navigate, not go it alone. You deserve care that's smart, simple, and on your side. That's the future of postpartum recovery.Found this helpful? What they genuinely help with, where they fall short, and how to pick one worth trusting.ProMom TeamJuly 10, 20253 min readShareIntroductionJessica is a marketing director, 8 months pregnant, juggling Zoom calls and nesting prep. Her secret weapon? An AI assistant that reminds her when to eat, tracks her sleep, and instantly answers, "Is brie cheese safe?"Across the globe, a quiet shift is taking place. Smart, career-driven moms are turning to artificial intelligence to reclaim time, reduce stress, and gain confidence. Here's how these tools can fit into everyday parenting. The Rise of AI in Everyday LifeFrom grocery shopping to financial planning, AI is already powering much of our daily lives. According to McKinsey (2023), 77% of professionals use AI tools for time management, a trend led by working women.AI tools are increasingly becoming part of personal wellness and parenting. Think predictive alerts, context-aware recommendations, and real-time Q&A, tailored to a mom's unique journey. What AI Can (and Can't) Do for ParentsAI isn't here to replace maternal instinct. It's here to lighten the load. Here's what today's AI tools can handle:🧠 Answer thousands of health and parenting questions on demand🗓️ Track ovulation, pregnancy milestones, or newborn routines🛒 Recommend safe products based on your specific needsBut here's what they can't do:Replace emotional connectionMake final decisions for youProvide deep medical diagnosisParents who get the most from AI use it to augment their decision-making, not replace it.Why Working Moms Are Early AdoptersLet's face it: motherhood today looks different. The average first-time mom is now over 30, more likely to be balancing a career, and more tech-literate than ever.Three reasons career-focused moms are embracing AI:Decision Fatigue Is Real: From bottle types to daycare options, moms face thousands of choices daily.Time Is Scarce: AI automates tasks that used to eat hours: research, scheduling, reminders. They Expect Personalization: One-size-fits-all blogs aren't cutting it anymore. AI tailors answers to them.In this way, AI becomes less of a gadget and more like a trusted helper that supports your decisions.AI and Emotional Labor: A Quiet RevolutionBeyond logistics, AI is helping to reduce the emotional labor that often goes unseen. The constant mental checklist. Did I pack the snacks? Book the pediatrician? Wash the swaddles? They can now be shared with a tireless assistant. And here's the beauty of it: AI doesn't judge, forget, or lose patience. For working moms who are often managing invisible loads, that's a revolutionary kind of relief.Where AI Is Heading Next in ParentingThe next frontier? AI that anticipates needs before they're spoken.Emerging features include:Voice assistants that let you check feeding logs hands-freePredictive analytics to flag postpartum health concerns earlyCommunity matchmaking with moms who share your goals and lifestyleAI is growing with moms, not ahead of them. The tech is getting smarter by learning from women's real behaviors, not just medical data.Closing Thoughts: Moms Are Leading This Tech ShiftThe stereotype of the "tech-savvy guy" innovating in AI? In parenting, it's the moms who are pioneering new use cases.By embracing smart tools, moms are not "outsourcing" their role. They're reclaiming their energy, confidence, and clarity in an overwhelming world.Moms are choosing how AI fits into their parenting routines.🔗 Bonus Tip:Want to dive deeper into smart motherhood strategies? We follow guidance trusted by maternal-health clinicians, and we cite our sources.ACOG, Special Tests for Monitoring Fetal Well-BeingACOG describes timing how long it takes to feel 10 movements, and advises calling your ob-gyn if you have not felt 10 within 2 hours. ACOG also notes there is no single normal number of movements, and that a change from your baby's usual pattern is what matters most. Guidance governed by our Medical Advisory Team.Learn more Kick counting questions, answeredWhen should I start counting kicks? Many providers suggest starting around 28 weeks, at the beginning of the third trimester. Your provider may recommend a different schedule based on your pregnancy, so follow their guidance first. How long should it take to feel 10 movements? There is no single normal time for every baby. Follow the counting method your clinician recommends. If movements are reduced, stop or feel different, contact your maternity care team immediately. Do not wait to reach a count or finish a session. Is there a normal number of movements? There is no set number of movements every baby should make each day. A change from your baby’s usual movements matters. ProMom can help you record sessions, but a count or baseline cannot tell you whether your baby is well. What counts as a movement?Kicks, flutters, jabs, rolls, twists, swishes, and stretches all count. Hiccups do not. When will I first feel my baby move? Most pregnant people first feel movement between 16 and 25 weeks (Cleveland Clinic). Early on it can feel like flutters, gas, or a tumbling sensation. Movement becomes more consistent and easier to track in the third trimester. What is the best time of day to count?Pick a time when your baby is usually active. ACOG suggests counting after your largest meal of the day, when movement tends to be strongest. Evenings are another common active window. Find a quiet spot without distractions and get comfortable, sitting or lying down. Once you have a few sessions logged, ProMom shows you your baby's most active window. What should I do if movements feel slower than usual?Contact your doctor, midwife or maternity unit immediately if your baby is moving less, has stopped moving or their usual pattern changes, even at night. Do not wait until the next day or delay calling to finish a counting session. ProMom cannot check your baby’s health. Is this a substitute for my provider's advice? No. The information on this page is for educational purposes only. It is not a diagnosis or treatment plan. Always contact your doctor, midwife, or other qualified health provider with questions about your specific pregnancy. Is the Kick Counter free?Yes. The core Kick Counter is free in the ProMom app. Maia's Insights, including your personal baseline and pattern comparisons, are part of ProMom Premium.Does ProMom keep my data private?Yes. Your sessions are tied to your private account. We never sell your data, and we never show ads.Can I share my history with my doctor or midwife?Yes. ProMom exports a PDF of your kick counting history, including charts of your sessions over time, so you can email it to your provider or bring it to an appointment.Track with calm, trust your baselineProMom is free to download on iOS. Here is what that means in practice. Clinically governed sources Our Medical Advisory Team approves the clinical sources ProMom draws from and sets the standards its guidance has to meet. Not the open internet. Safety rules run first Red-flag rules set by clinicians run before Maia answers and direct her to her provider or emergency services. Ongoing review Our Medical Advisory Team audits samples of Maia's answers on a recurring basis and uses what it finds to improve it. What it doesn't do ProMom supports and informs. It doesn't diagnose or replace a provider. Features Blog Our Story Team Newborn Essentials ## Our Story: Why We Built ProMom | ProMom URL: https://www.promom.health/story Why We Built ProMomOur own pregnancy journey showed us how overwhelming and fragmented support can be. ProMom is the trusted companion we wished existed. Our Story Begins With a Journey We Didn't ExpectIn the summer of 2022, we (Leon and Sheila) decided to grow our family. Like many first-time parents, we were hopeful, organized, and using every tool we could find. When our first pregnancy ended in an early loss, a simple plan turned into a long, emotional fertility journey filled with apps, trackers, and unanswered questions.A year later, Sheila became pregnant again. What should have been a joyful new chapter quickly became high-risk when a serious medical complication was discovered. By late 2023, we had relocated to the Bay Area for specialized monitoring, juggling treatment plans, work, and preparations for our baby, all while stitching together information from countless sources that didn't fit our reality.Through it all, one thing became clear: this journey is already demanding. Finding clear, personalized support shouldn't be. We didn't need more apps. We needed one place we could trust. That's when ProMom was born. What We Learned Along the WayLiving through our own fertility and high-risk pregnancy journey, we saw the same patterns everywhere.Too many tools, not enough clarity. Cycle apps, symptom checkers, forums, and product lists never told the full story.Generic advice doesn't fit real life. Most guidance wasn't tailored to stage or situation. It's hard to know what to trust. Parents deserve guidance grounded in medical expertise, not random posts or unchecked AI responses. The mental load is nonstop. Decisions pile up quickly, big and small.Moms don't need more noise. GOVERNING LAWThese Legal Terms and your use of the Services are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware applicable to agreements made and to be entirely performed within the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.19. DISPUTE RESOLUTIONInformal NegotiationsTo expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Legal Terms (each a "Dispute" and collectively, the "Disputes") brought by either you or us (individually, a "Party" and collectively, the "Parties"), the Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration. Such informal negotiations commence upon written notice from one Party to the other Party.Binding ArbitrationIf the Parties are unable to resolve a Dispute through informal negotiations, the Dispute (except those Disputes expressly excluded below) will be finally and exclusively resolved by binding arbitration. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT WITHOUT THIS PROVISION, YOU WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUE IN COURT AND HAVE A JURY TRIAL. The arbitration shall be commenced and conducted under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") and, where appropriate, the AAA’s Supplementary Procedures for Consumer Related Disputes ("AAA Consumer Rules"), both of which are available at the American Arbitration Association (AAA) website. Your arbitration fees and your share of arbitrator compensation shall be governed by the AAA Consumer Rules and, where appropriate, limited by the AAA Consumer Rules. The arbitration may be conducted in person, through the submission of documents, by phone, or online. The arbitrator will make a decision in writing, but need not provide a statement of reasons unless requested by either Party. The arbitrator must follow applicable law, and any award may be challenged if the arbitrator fails to do so. Except where otherwise required by the applicable AAA rules or applicable law, the arbitration will take place in New Castle County, Delaware. Except as otherwise provided herein, the Parties may litigate in court to compel arbitration, stay proceedings pending arbitration, or to confirm, modify, vacate, or enter judgment on the award entered by the arbitrator. If for any reason, a Dispute proceeds in court rather than arbitration, the Dispute shall be commenced or prosecuted in the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and the Parties hereby consent to, and waive all defenses of lack of personal jurisdiction, and forum non conveniens with respect to venue and jurisdiction in such state and federal courts. Application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transaction Act (UCITA) are excluded from these Legal Terms. In no event shall any Dispute brought by either Party related in any way to the Services be commenced more than one (1) years after the cause of action arose. If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.RestrictionsThe Parties agree that any arbitration shall be limited to the Dispute between the Parties individually. To the full extent permitted by law, (a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding; (b) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be arbitrated on a class-action basis or to utilize class action procedures; and (c) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be brought in a purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.Exceptions to Informal Negotiations and Arbitration The Parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning informal negotiations binding arbitration: (a) any Disputes seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, any of the intellectual property rights of a Party; (b) any Dispute related to, or arising from, allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief. If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.20.
